My artwork takes an introspective look at the emotional fabric of our humanity. Portraying deeply emotional, fragile and often dejected figures that touch on our sensibilities and make us question the subtle differences that separate us from one another. My aim is to paint relatable figures that we can connect to, understand and that stroke human compassion.

My training as a psychologist grants me a curated view into the human psyche and is the inspiration for my artwork. My studies on the psychology of emotion, pain and coping have been the undercurrent shaping my artistic style. They have molded my understanding of the subtle intricacies of our humanity and the plight we all share.

My artwork falls within the canon of modern expressionist art, a framework where I can fluidly define my artwork. I explore painting techniques in various media, such as canvas, wood and cardboard and experiment with color blending, pencil and engraving, in order to create images that are bold and powerful.

Art has been a means of expression for me, one where I could recreate what I found in nature and the sensibilities in human emotion and my hope is that my art can evoke an emotional appreciation in others.

My Artistic Technique

The primary medium for my paintings is oil paint on linen canvas.

I have formulated my own unique color scheme through a process of color blending, this allows me to arrive at an ideal color palette that captures the desired effect for my artwork, often giving the impression of uncontoured, unrestrained brushstrokes.

I continually explore new media for my paintings, such as collage, engraving and oil paint on wood, with the goal of shaping movement in a more defined context. My exploration in art expands to larger mediums like murals and the modern movements of urban and street art.
